iGoogle is iLame
This’ll be short but is anyone else unimpressed by Google’s rebranding of its personalised homepage as iGoogle? I can’t quite work out if I dislike it because of the i- cliche or because the logo itself is so crap. This continue something of a theme (if two can be considered a ‘theme’) with iGoogle now complimenting the similarly terrible Gmail logo. While the central Google logo is strong, simple and iconic, Gmail is a mess of fonts and sizes. iGoogle looks like it was designed by the same Python developer with the ‘i’ being both italicised and a different size to the rest of the letters in the logo.
Memo to Google: stick with the Google [Product Name] format and call it something like Google You or Google Start.
