Was It Always This Hard?
by Michael
Well I’m back in Australia again. This is the second time in as many months and both times it was thanks to the course that’s been the bane of my existence since July. Well, OK, maybe ‘bane of my existence’ is a little strong. Let’s just say I’m really going to be glad when this is all over.
The course itself is another step in my gradual journey to becoming a fully-qualified lawyer. Essentially, it insures we’re capable of not only looking law up in a book but communicating it to other people. In exchange for money. You’d think they’d have squeezed that into five years, too, huh?
What’s really surprised me about the whole course has been my reaction. I went through almost 19 years of continuous education without so much as a moan (maybe) and yet after one year off I’m finding getting back into the groove to be oh so much effort. I know education is supposed to be a lifelong thing now but is it supposed to be this difficult? All I want is to never have to sit an exam again.
Not much chance of that, is there?
