As for hiding the document list, my suggestion would be that the list be visible for first time users but that there be a setting in the cookie/database that remembers whether you hid it or not last time. I'm thinking about adding a little button in the corner that would hide the document list and expand the text area over that. No promises... There are some usability and UI issues I'm working through in relation to that (like whether a hidden document list should be the default mode). Thanks for the recommendation.
